- Share it all – don’t feel that your day has to be exciting in order to share it with your followers. Grab a coffee at your local coffee shop? Post it. Went to the gym for leg day? Share it. Made a healthy, but easy dinner? Post it on Instagram stories! Sharing your day-to-day life will allow others to connect with you & help increase engagement.
- Capitalize on being YOU – it’s easy to fall into the comparison trap on social media, but what are the things that make you different from everyone else? Focus on those attributes, hobbies, interests and set yourself apart. That will build connection & trust with your audience.
- Step out of your comfort zone – In order to become an influencer, you will need to ditch your comfort zone and those nagging insecurities. Many people want to build their following, but are not willing to put themselves out there. Remember why you’re doing this & focus on educating/entertaining your followers. Be personable, vulnerable and allow others to connect with you.
- Find your niche – Discovering your brand and audience is one of the most important steps in becoming an influencer. If you are trying to talk to everyone, you will end up connecting with no one. What is their age, interests, job, location, problems… who are you trying to talk to & build a relationship with? Once you figure this out, you can build your content accordingly.
- Invest- Investing in your brand & future needs to be a priority when building your page. Whether you’re investing in a high quality camera, presets, editing apps or a photographer, you want to spend money in the areas that will increase the quality of your content. Can also propose a collab/trade!
